Yorkshire

I've been visiting Kate, Christian, Alexia and Isabella this week in YOrkshire. I'm reminded (like everytime) of how much I like the UK. Maybe in another post after I get home I'll talk about why. Not that I want to trade passports...love being American, but really appreciate a lot about things over here. We went to Harewood House gardens, the excellent aquarium in Hull and lots of catching up with old friends and making some new ones. Here I am with Alexia, my goddaughter!

Reflecting

Now that it's summer (yay!) it's time to reflect a bit on the year at work. I really love my job. It's difficult and sometimes overwhelming. It's also important, and something that is a perfect fit for me in many ways. There are so many moments that make it worth it, I'm very fortunate to get so many of them. I've been thinking about the student in the picture (and that's one of my awesome AmeriCorps members with him).

I get to work with a lot of amazing students. Seeing him in his cap and gown and knowing he's getting out of town soon for college is a real live miracle.

This weekend Niki and Little B where in town! It was great to see them and spend some time together before Niki and Adam and B move to Wales for a few years. Even more awesome...Kristin and Geoff came over with Little G to play! So fun!
